I’m so happy to find someone who went through the same stages as me. Although I started at 17, my parents got angry with me also when I told them I wanted to stop consuming meat. After month one they started taking me a little more seriously and it’s been two and a half years now! They respect me so much with my decision they make sure to use different spoons when cooking my food and theirs. The jokes have stopped more or less and they have even taken some of my vegetarian foods into their daily cooking and meals. I know others might not be this lucky or are afraid to take the initiative and tell their parents they want to become vegetarian, but do it! My parents are Hispanic, as in MEAT EATERS, and it was very hard on them to accept my no meat concept. It was like telling them god did not exist. If my parents got over it yours can too!
